The Colton School District seeks to provide every student with a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).  In so doing, staff members are learning and implementing inclusive practices for all students.  We recognize that effective models of inclusive education not only benefit students with disabilities, but also create an environment in which every student, including those who do not have disabilities, has the opportunity to flourish. In the spirit of this belief, structures are under development and staff are being trained to improve our practices in inclusive education for all learners.

The Resource Center and Intervention Spaces are pullout services with a low student to staff ratio. Students are given one-on-one and small group instruction to help students meet their individual goals in reading, writing, math, functional living, employment and social/emotional skills.  The primary purpose of these services is to provide a safe, supportive, structured environment where students make progress toward their individual goals while working toward increased independence and success in regular education classrooms and in the community.  Both Columbia Regional and Clackamas ESD also provide additional support to our students in these programs. These services are available at each school in our district.
